Jennie began her musical career in the classical world.   She is both a trained opera singer and an excellent pianist.  She studied at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Barbara Robotham, where she won the Elsie Thurston, John Wray and Kate Snape prizes for singing.   She was generously awarded a major scholarship by the Peter Moores Foundation, and the MSM Centenary Scholarship, to continue her post-graduate studies at the RNCM.  Immediately following the RNCM, she worked with both Clonter Opera and with Opera North, but shortly afterwards chose to follow a career as a singer/songwriter.

She now performs throughout the country accompanying herself on piano. Jennie’s style is very diverse and she has been involved in a number of projects and collaborations as well as her own original music.

Over the last couple of years Jennie has been involved in a broad spectrum of music and events, she has travelled widely, singing in places such as Monte Carlo, Venice and Cannes where she sang at a MIPIM event hosted by Gary Lineker. She supported Heather Small for the Manchester Tourism awards at the GMEX hosted by Vernon Kay, sang at the Bridgewater Hall with the Royal Marines and the Coronation Street cast as part of a charity concert in aid of The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and also gave two special performances for Rocco Forte at his very own Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

Appearances include the Royal Albert Hall as a guest soloist with the West-End Rat Pack Show, a night with Rough Hill in London hosted by Trevor Nelson and at Old Trafford for a number of evenings in aid of Sir Alex Ferguson's favourite charity, UNICEF

Notable performances have been at Ricky Tomlinson's wedding, Manchester United’s Old Trafford for the Champion's League Final, the opening of Harvey Nichols in Manchester and an appearance at Ronnie Scott's famous jazz club in London.   She also sang at Wayne Rooney's I8th birthday party, Charles Kennedy's birthday at London's Dorchester Hotel, the Carlton Tower Hotel with Brian Connelly, the Manchester United Players' Christmas party and Arsenal’s Martin Keown's testimonial dinner at the London Hilton.  More recently, Jennie has had a number of engagements at The Ritz, London, has sung for the Blackburn Rovers for their Player of the Year awards, and has also had the pleasure of playing for footballer Neil Mellor’s wedding in Liverpool.
Jennie appeared on the BBC2 talent series “Let Me Entertain You” in which she was a semi-finalist and amongst other projects so far this year she has worked with Paul Heaton of The House Martins and The Beautiful South.

At the end of 2010 Jennie had the privilege of being voted ‘Wedding Singer of the Year 2010’ by The Bridal Magazine and also released her album of original songs, “Fighting The Fairytale”.  It has been her biggest project to date – forming her own record label “Little Me Records” and putting all aspects of the production of the cd together herself.
